Fuel Injector
Removal
Disconnect injector connector. Remove injector retaining screw and retainer. See Fig 1 . Carefully pry injector from throttle body using an appropriate fulcrum. Remove upper and lower "O" rings.
Cleaning & Inspection
Inspect injector filter screen for dirt or contamination. If contaminated, inspect fuel lines and tank. DO NOT immerse injector in liquid solvent or cleaner.
Installation
1) If replacing injector, always replace it with an identical part. Lubricate new upper and lower "O" rings with ATF and place them on the injector. Ensure upper "O" ring lies in groove and lower "O" ring is flush against filter. Install fuel injector in throttle body.
2) Ensure fuel injector connector end faces the cut-out in the throttle body for wiring grommet. Install retainer and coat retaining screw threads with locking compound. Tighten retaining screw to 27 INCH lbs. (3 N.m). With engine off and ignition on, check for fuel leaks.
