Pick-Up Coil
Removal
1) Remove distributor from engine. See DISTRIBUTOR. Remove roll pin retaining spring from tang drive. Mark tang drive and shaft for reassembly reference. Support body of tang drive in "V" block. DO NOT support on tangs.
2) Drive out roll pin and remove tang drive. Clean any burrs from shaft and remove shaft. Remove wave washer and lift pick-up coil assembly from distributor. See Fig 1 . Disconnect module connectors. Remove module mounting screws and module.
Installation
1) Clean distributor base and module. Apply silicone lubricant to mounting surfaces of distributor and module. See Fig 1 . Install module on distributor and connect module connectors.
2) Install pick-up coil assembly and wave washer. Assemble shaft, tang drive and roll pin. Install roll pin retaining spring. Spin shaft to check clearance. Adjust pick-up coil (if necessary). Install rotor and distributor cap. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
