Hall Effect (Pick-Up) Sensor

  1. Remove distributor cap and rotor. Disconnect 2-pin connector from ignition module. Check continuity between distributor body and pick-up connector using an ohmmeter. Reading should be infinite (open). If reading is not infinite, replace pick-up sensor.
  2. Wiggle wire and check resistance between pick-up coil connector. Resistance should be steady at 500-1500 ohms. If resistance is not within specification, replace pick-up sensor.
