Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

The TPS is mounted on the side of throttle body, opposite the throttle lever. Using a scan tester, check TPS voltage. With ignition on and engine off, TPS voltage signal should be 1.25 volts (throttle closed) or less with throttle closed, and about 4.5 volts with throttle wide open. If voltage is not as specified, replace TPS.
