Hall Effect (Pick-Up) Sensor

  1. Remove distributor cap and rotor. Unplug 2-pin connector from ignition module. Measure resistance between distributor body and pick-up connector. Resistance should be infinite (open). If resistance is not infinite, replace pick-up sensor.
  2. Wiggle wire while measuring resistance between pick-up coil connector terminals. Resistance should be steady at 500-1500 ohms. If resistance is not within specification, replace pick-up sensor.
