Body Control Module (BCM): Removal

Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Locate BCM under right side of instrument panel, mounted to HVAC duct. Remove lower instrument panel insulator. Unsnap BCM from HVAC duct bracket and lower BCM. Disconnect BCM harness connector C1, then harness connector C2. Remove BCM from vehicle.

NOTE: If BCM harness connector C2 is disconnected first, then reconnected last, no BCM DTCs will set.

NOTE: If replacing BCM with NEW BCM, program NEW BCM with PASS-Key II(R) ignition key code. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article.
