Window Motor

  1. Remove window switch and lock switch. See WINDOW SWITCH  . Using Door Handle Clip Remover (J 9886-01), remove door handle. Remove door handle bezel. Remove fasteners in armrest and lower trim panel. Feed power controls through panel.
  2. Using Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover (J 24595-B), pry trim panel from door frame at window seal. Remove trim panel retainers from door. Raise window to fully closed position, and tape securely in place. Disconnect electrical harness from regulator motor. Use a 1/4" (6 mm) drill bit, and drill head from regulator-to-door rivets. Remove regulator from door.
  3. Drill out motor-to-regulator rivets. Disconnect motor from window regulator. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate motor drive gear and regulator sector teeth. Check motor-to-regulator mesh before installing rivets. Use a 1/4" (6 mm) diameter bolt, 1/2" (13 mm) long, with a nylon insert nut to reattach regulator to door.
