Transmitter Programming/Synchronization

NOTE: If vehicle is equipped with THEFTLOCK(R) anti-theft device, obtain code from customer prior to disconnecting power to vehicle. See owner's manual for proper THEFTLOCK(R) procedures.
NOTE: Failure to wait for doors to unlock while programming transmitters will cause one or both transmitters to not be programmed. Programming of transmitters can be done at the same time. First transmitter must be programmed completely before programming second transmitter.
  1. Remove RADIO fuse No. 17 (15-amp) from instrument panel fuse block. Cycle ignition switch from OFF to RUN position 3 times within 5 seconds. BCM will indicate programming sequence is active by locking and unlocking doors and activating hatch release.
  2. Depress and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter to be programmed for 16 seconds. Doors will lock and unlock and hatch release will activate to verify transmitter has been recognized by BCM.
  3. After doors have locked and unlocked and hatch release has been activated by BCM, depress and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on second transmitter for 16 seconds. Doors will lock and unlock and hatch release will activate to verify transmitter has been recognized by BCM.
  4. After doors have locked and unlocked and hatch release has been activated by BCM, replace RADIO fuse. If programming must be cancelled, turn ignition to OFF position and begin at step  1 .
