Test 2: Left Front Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light, backprobe between master switch assembly connector terminals "D" (Dark Blue wire) and "E" (Light Blue wire). While observing test light, press left window switch at master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step  3 . If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to next step.
  2. Check for poor connection at master switch assembly. If connection is okay, replace master switch assembly. See WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between power window control module connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "E" (Gray wire), located at center of dash, above floor tunnel. See Fig 1 . While observing test light, press left window switch at master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step  5 . If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to next step.
  4. Check for open in Gray wire and Dark Blue wire between master switch assembly and power window control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary and retest system.
  5. Using a test light, backprobe between power window control module connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "D" (Brown wire). See Fig 1 . While observing test light, press left window switch at master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step  7 . If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to next step.
  6. Check for poor connection at power window control module. If connection is okay, replace power window control module.
  7. Disconnect left window motor connector. Connect a test light between left window motor connector terminals "A" (Brown wire) and "B" (Dark Blue wire). While observing test light, press left window switch at master switch assembly to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to step  9 .
  8. Check for poor connection at left window motor. If connection is okay, replace left window motor. See WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  9. Check for open in Dark Blue wire and Brown wire between left power window motor and power window control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary and retest system.
