Position Encoding System

The Position Encoding System (PES) tracks position of sunroof glass through two limit switches:

• Soft stop limit switch.
• Vent limit switch.

Sunroof module monitors limit switches, and based on inputs determines position of sunroof glass. As limit switch closes, 5 volt reference of either sunroof limit switch range or soft stop signal circuit, depending on which limit switch is closed, will be shorted to sunroof limit switch low reference circuit, pulling 5 volt reference to zero volts.

Sunroof module understands position of sunroof glass based on different input combinations through sunroof limit switch soft stop signal and sunroof limit switch range signal inputs.
