Electronic Brake Control Module: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
  3. Pull out lock tab from Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) harness connector (1). See Figure.
  4. Disconnect EBCM harness connector.
  5. Disconnect pump motor connector (3) at bottom of EBCM. See Figure.
  6. Remove six EBCM to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) screws (2) and discard.
    7. NOTE: Be careful not to damage seal. Do not pry apart using a tool. Care must be taken not to damage solenoid valves when EBCM is removed from BPMV.
  7. Separate EBCM (1) from BPMV (5) by gently pulling apart until separated.
