Power Mirror System Operation

Outside rearview mirror switch receives power through battery voltage circuit from center console fuse block PWR MIRROR fuse (10-amp). Power mirror switch also receives a constant ground.

The four positions of direction switch have dual switch contacts. Each contact is connected to opposing sides of appropriate power mirror motors through position selector switch. Selector switch completes circuits depending on position of selector switch (left or right).

If selector switch is placed in left position and up switch is depressed, battery positive voltage will be supplied to left outside rearview mirror vertical motor through left mirror motor up control circuit and ground through left mirror motor left control circuit. If down switch is depressed, battery positive voltage will be supplied to left outside rearview mirror vertical motor through left mirror motor left control circuit and ground through left mirror motor up control circuit.

Remainder of mirror functions operate in same manner as described above. Placing power mirror switch in opposing positions (left/right or up/down) will reverse polarity to mirror motor.
