Preliminary Inspection

Check circuit breakers and fuses. Ensure grounds are clean and tight. If only master window switch operates windows, ensure lock-out is not engaged (4-door). Verify customer complaint by operating suspected system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Check battery state of charge. Inspect for loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harnesses and/or switches. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Pay special attention to harness routing where wires are hinged or make sharp bends. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If no problem is found, repair by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
