Test A: Abs Indicator Always On

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, select Instrument Panel Cluster Special Functions mode. Go to Displays Test in Output Control. In Displays Test mode instrument panel indicators can turn ON or OFF. All indicators will turn ON when commanded on. If ABS indicator turns on, then turns off, go to next step. If ABS indicator does not turn on, then turn off, go to step  4.
  3. Replace EBCM. See ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE & BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Operate system to verify repairs. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  4. Disconnect instrument cluster. Connect a test light across appropriate power and ground terminals. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in power or ground circuit to cluster. If test light illuminates, check connector for poor connection to cluster. If connection is okay, replace instrument cluster. Operate system to verify repairs. Go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
