Set Up a New Theft Deterrent Control Module

Use this procedure only if replacing theft deterrent control module with an GM Service Parts Operation (SPO) replacement part.

1. Connect a scan tool to DLC. DLC is located under left side of instrument panel.
2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
3. Using scan tool, select SETUP NEW VTD MODULE from vehicle theft deterrent special functions data list.
4. Follow scan tool on-screen instructions.
