Set Up a New Theft Deterrent Control Module

Use this procedure only if replacing the theft deterrent control module with an GM SPO replacement part.

1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel.
2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
3. Using scan tool, select SETUP NEW VTD MODULE from vehicle theft deterrent special functions data list.
4. Follow scan tool on-screen instructions.
