Keyless Entry Indicator

Key Fob Battery Low Indicator - When voltage of keyless entry transmitter (key fob) battery falls below 2.2 volts, transmitter sends a low battery signal to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). Low battery signal is sent every time transmitter is used for any remote keyless function. RCDLR module communicates low battery messages to Body Control Module (BCM). When BCM receives three consecutive low battery messages from RCDLR module, BCM sends a class 2 serial data message to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). IPC illuminates KEY FOB BATTERY LOW indicator in message center whenever ignition is in RUN position. Indicator remains illuminated until a transmitter with a good battery (2.2 volts or greater) is used to perform any remote function. When indicator is illuminated and a transmitter with a weak battery is used to perform any remote function, indicator turns off for approximately 2 seconds and then turns back on.
