Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system is a supplementary vehicle entry device. Use RKE system in conjunction with a door lock key. Radio frequencies or discharged batteries may disable system.

RKE system entry allows operation of following components:

Main components of RKE system are: RCDLR module communicates with BCM through keyless entry serial data circuit. Pressing any button on remote transmitter, sends a signal to RCDLR. RCDLR module interprets signal and sends a request over keyless entry serial data circuit to BCM. BCM performs appropriate function depending on which transmitter button is pressed.
