Compass Calibration

NOTE: Before calibrating compass, drive vehicle to an area that is magnetically clean (free of large metallic objects). Ensure there are no magnetic objects inside or outside of vehicle.

Compass is self calibrating. If CAL symbol is displayed on Driver Information Center (DIC). Drive vehicle in circles at a speed of less than 5 MPH for 3 complete revolutions. CAL symbol should turn off. If CAL symbol turned off, calibration is complete. If CAL symbol did not turn off, compass must be calibrated manually using following procedure:

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Press MODE button until compass/temperature mode is displayed.
  3. Press and hold RESET button for about 10 seconds, or until CAL symbol is displayed.
  4. Release RESET button. Start and drive vehicle in circles at a speed of less than 5 MPH for 3 complete revolutions. When CAL symbol is no longer displayed, calibration procedure is complete.
