DTC B1007: Checksum Value Error: Testing

  1. If theft deterrent system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. If scan tool indicates B1007 is current, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate B1007 as current, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. Replace theft deterrent module. After repair, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle to verify fault no longer exists. If DTC B1007 resets, go to step  2 .
