Disabling System (Prizm)

  1. Before proceeding, follow SRS service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position. Remove ignition key.
  2. Remove IGN and CIG fuses from instrument panel fuse block. Fuse block is located on lower left side of instrument panel, behind cover. Fuses are identified by a label inside cover. Wait at least 2 MINUTES.
  3. Remove lower steering column trim cover. Release lock tab, and disconnect driver air bag module Yellow 2-pin SIR connector. See Figure. Remove glove box. Release lock tab, and disconnect passenger air bag module Yellow 2-pin connector. See Figure.
  4. Release lock mechanism, and disconnect driver side air bag module Yellow 2-pin SIR connector. Connector is located under front, center of seat. Repeat procedure for passenger side air bag.
