DTC B1009: EEPROM Checksum Error: Testing

  1. If theft deterrent system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. If scan tool indicates B1009 is current, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate B1009 as current, go to INTERMITTENTS  under TROUBLESHOOTING.
  3. Replace appropriate module. After repair, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle within conditions for running the DTC as specified in supporting text. If DTC resets, go to step  2 .
