Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  You must perform the new body control module (BCM) setup when replacing the BCM. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) PROGRAMMING/RPO CONFIGURATION  .

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the console accessory wiring junction block. Refer to CONSOLE ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT .
  3. Rotate the BCM retaining lever (1) to release the BCM from the console accessory wiring junction block.
  4. Remove the BCM (2) from the console accessory wiring junction block.
