If DTC 44 is set, remote transmitter is out of synchronization with Body Control Module (BCM). This can be caused by any of these conditions: remote transmitter buttons were pressed more than 256 times while out of BCM Radio Frequency (RF) signal range, remote transmitter buttons were pressed more than 10 times while out of BCM RF signal range after remote transmitter battery was replaced, remote transmitter RF signal was interrupted due to outside noise from surrounding environment or remote transmitter is defective.
