Test D: Retained Accessory Power On After Time Out
- If door systems diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If door systems diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform diagnostic system check before proceeding. See RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- If courtesy lights operate correctly, go to next step. If courtesy lights do not operate correctly, repair courtesy light as necessary. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Close all doors, and rear compartment lid. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position, and wait 10 minutes. Operate power windows, power mirrors, convertible top and radio. If all Retained Accessory Power (RAP) functions operate after 10 minutes, go to next step. If all RAP functions do not operate after 10 minutes, go to step 6 .
- Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) harness connectors. BCM is located behind right side of instrument panel, near blower motor. See Figure . Inspect harness connectors for poor connections. If poor connections are not found, go to next step. If poor connections are found, repair as necessary then go to step 6 .
- Replace BCM. Program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING. Go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system is not operating properly, repeat test beginning at step 4 .
