Installation Procedure

  1. Install the shoulder belt anchor plate to the floor panel.
    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  2. Install the shoulder belt (5) by connecting the bolt (4) and the spacer (3) to the floor panel.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 42 N.m (31 ft lbs).

  3. Install the shoulder belt guide (6) to the rear seat back cushion with bolt (7).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 in lbs).

  4. Install the belt retractor (8) to the inner wheelhouse panel (2) with a nut (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 55 N.m (41 ft lbs).

  5. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the cargo area front trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT -- CARGO AREA FRONT (COUPE) or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT -- CARGO AREA FRONT (CONVERTIBLE) .
