Using New Switch

  1. Align the holes in the Park/Neutral position switch with the holes in the transmission control. Ensure that the transmission control is still in the Neutral position. Do not rotate the switch.
  2. The new switch is pinned in the Neutral position. If the pin is missing or broken and the switch has been rotated, proceed to USING OLD SWITCH  .
  3. Ensure that the vehicle will only start in the Park or Neutral position. Readjust the switch if the engine will start in any other position.
  4. Install the Park/Neutral position switch and bolts to the transmission control. See Fig 1 . Tighten the Park/Neutral position switch bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Remove the alignment pin and verify proper operation of the switch. See Fig 2 .
