Test A: All Power Windows Inoperative
- If door systems diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If door systems diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform diagnostic system check before proceeding. See DOOR SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Attempt to operate all power windows. If all power windows are inoperative, go to next step. If any power window operates, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING .
- Disconnect driver's power window switch 6-pin harness connector. Connect a test light between ground and driver's power window switch harness connector terminal "F" (Brown wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Connect a test light between ground and driver's power window switch harness connector terminals "A" (Black wire) and "F" (Brown wire). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 7 . If test light illuminates, go to step 8 .
- Inspect Yellow wire for an open between Body Control Module (BCM) harness connector C3 terminal D6 and instrument panel fuse block. Instrument panel fuse block is located behind left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Inspect Brown wire for an open between instrument panel fuse block and driver's power window switch harness connector terminal "F". If an open is not found, go to next step. If an open is found, repair as necessary then go to step 9 .
- Inspect Yellow wire for a short to ground between ground and BCM harness connector C3 terminal D6. Inspect Brown wire for a short to ground between ground and driver's power window switch harness connector terminal "F". If a short to ground is found, repair as necessary then go to step 9 . If a short to ground is not found, repair retained accessory power as necessary. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article.
- Repair open or poor connection in Black wire between driver's power window switch and ground. Ground point is located behind left kick panel. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Replace driver's power window switch, then go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system is not operating properly, repeat test beginning at step 2 .
