10-Minute Relearn Procedure

NOTE:
Use this procedure after replacing Passkey® III ignition keys, TDC module or PCM.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below driver side of instrument panel, near steering column.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- Ensure all power consuming devices are turned off.
- Using scan tool, select REQUEST INFO under service programming system and follow scan tool instructions.
- Disconnect scan tool from vehicle, and connect scan tool to a Techline terminal with latest service programming system software.
- Using Techline terminal, select SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM, and follow Techline terminal instructions.
- Disconnect scan tool from Techline terminal, and connect to DLC.
- Using master Passkey® III ignition key, turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- Using scan tool, select PROGRAM ECU under service programming system.
- Ensure scan tool stays connected to vehicle for 10 minutes.
- Observe scan tool after 10 minutes. Scan tool will display PROGRAMMING SUCCESSFUL, TURN OFF IGNITION. Vehicle is now ready to relearn key information and/or passwords on next ignition switch cycle from OFF to RUN positions.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position, and wait 5 seconds.
- Using master Passkey® III ignition key, start vehicle. Theft deterrent control module has now learned key transponder information, and PCM has now learned fuel continue password.
- Using scan tool, clear all DTCs.
NOTE:
On some vehicles, SECURITY indicator may illuminate on steady for duration of 10-minute relearn procedure.
