Transmitter Synchronization

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and 2001 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Synchronization may be necessary due to security method used by remote keyless entry system. Transmitter does not send same signal twice to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). RCDLR will not respond to a signal that has been sent previously. This prevents anyone from recording and playing back signal from transmitter. Resynchronization may be necessary when, battery in transmitter is very weak, battery in transmitter was replaced, or battery in vehicle has been in a low or no charge condition for an extended period of time.

In order to synchronize transmitter with RCDLR, perform following steps:

Horn will chirp in order to confirm synchronization.
