PASSLOCK(tm) LEARN PROCEDURE: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, and 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Passlock(tm) system may be referred to as Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) system.
NOTE:
Password must be learned when Passlock(tm) sensor, Body Control Module (BCM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is replaced. BCM must be programmed with proper Regular Production Option (RPO) configurations before preforming relearn procedures. See BODY CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING/REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CONFIGURATION
.
NOTE:
If Body Control Module (BCM) is replaced, BCM will learn Passlock(tm) sensor data code immediately. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) however, must learn new fuel continue password when BCM is replaced.
NOTE:
If PCM is replaced, (after programming) PCM will learn incoming fuel continue password immediately upon receipt of a password message. If PCM password needs to be changed, learn procedure will need to be performed.
