Removal Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.
  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the upper quarter trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Aztek) or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Rendezvous) in Interior Trim.

    NOTE: In order to avoid damaging the antenna lead connector, follow these guidelines:
    • Use a plastic tool and carefully pry the connector from the window.
    • Do NOT pull on the connector, which may be stuck to the urethane adhesive or the headliner.
  4. Disconnect the antenna lead located on the rear quarter window, if equipped.
  5. Disconnect the OnStar™ Connector located on the rear quarter window, if equipped.

    IMPORTANT: Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window. Do this from inside the vehicle to protect the painted surface.
  7. This will allow the urethane adhesive to be separated from the window.
    • Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
    • The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
    • Use the J 39032  or equivalent in order to remove the window. See Special Tools and Equipment .
  8. If the original reveal molding on the quarter window is damaged it must be replaced.

  10. With the aid of an assistant, remove the quarter window (1) from the opening.
