Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator to the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the generator bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  4. Install the idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L (LY7).
  5. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L (LY7).

  7. Connect the generator electrical connector.

  9. Install the battery cable and the generator B+ terminal nut to the generator.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator B+ terminal nut 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  10. Install the torque struts. Refer to and in Engine Mechanical - 3.6L (LY7).
  11. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LA1)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) .
