Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Apply the parking brake.

  3. Raise the front of the vehicle approximately 100mm (4 in.) with a floor jack. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the two front frame bolts.
    5. IMPORTANT: Do not lower the frame and powertrain more than 100mm (4 in.)
  5. Slowly lower the frame and powertrain approximately 100mm (4 in.) from the underbody rails in order to gain access to the EGR pipe.
  6. Place two jack stands beneath the frame to prevent any movement of the frame and powertrain assembly.

  7. Remove the EGR pipe bolt and the EGR pipe from the EGR valve.
  8. Loosen the EGR pipe nut in order to remove the EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold.
  9. Remove the EGR pipe.
