Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump reservoir to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series) .
  2. Install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (LA1)  or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (LY7) .
  3. Uncap the power steering pump and hoses.

  5. Position the power steering pump to the vehicle.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  8. Install the wiring harness to the wiring harness retainer located on the power steering pump reservoir.

  10. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.

  12. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
  13. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
  14. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
  15. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
