Scan Tool Data Definitions

Accessory Switch

Input from ignition switch ACCESSORY circuit. Used to determine power mode. Hot in ACCESSORY and RUN.

Base Model Part Number

Part number of the BCM.

Battery Voltage

This is the direct reading off the vehicle system voltage.

End Model Part Number

Last 4 digits of the BCM part number.

Ignition Run Start Switch

Input to the control module from the ignition switch indicating the state of the RUN signal.

Key in Ignition

Input from ignition switch indicating that the ignition key is inserted into the ignition switch. HOT with key in ignition and ignition switch position LOCK.

Last Four Digits Of The SDM

This is the last 4 digits of the vehicles programed Sensing and Diagnostic Module.

Ignition Power Relay

This an output to the control circuit of the ignition relay. It is active when the ignition switch is in the RUN position.

Software Release, Day

This is the day of the month that the software was released.

Software Release, Month

This is the month of the year that the software was released.

Software Revision

This is the revision of the installed software of the BCM.

Software Release, Year

This is the year that the installed software was released.

VIN Number

This is the vehicle number that the BCM is programed to operate with.

Starter Switch

This is an input to the BCM that is OFF when the vehicle operator does not have the ignition switch in the start position. When the ignition switch is in the start position the display will read ON.
