Removal Procedure

NOTE: Clean all of the following areas before performing any disconnections in order to avoid possible contamination in the system:
  • The fuel pipe connections
  • The hose connections
  • The areas surrounding the connections
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  2. Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve any vapor pressure.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Remove both fuel rail covers.

  6. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel feed pipe (4) at the fuel rail.
  7. Disconnect the engine compartment EVAP pipe (1) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
  8. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel feed pipe at the chassis fuel feed pipe (3).
  9. Disconnect the engine compartment EVAP pipe at the chassis EVAP pipe (2).
  10. Cap the fuel pipes to prevent possible fuel system contamination.
