Removal Procedure

Turn OFF the ignition.
Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
Drain the engine coolant below the level of the ECT sensor. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the fuel rail cover.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor.

NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.
