Removal Procedure

    Fig 1: Locating Fuel Filler Pipe Attaching Nut To Wheelhouse Stud

    NOTE: Refer to Cover and Plug Openings Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  3. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure .
  4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the fuel filler pipe attaching nut to wheelhouse stud (1).
  6. Remove the fuel filler pipe attaching screw (3) to the wheelhouse panel.

  7. Loosen the fuel filler pipe clamp.
  8. Remove the fuel filler pipe (2) from the fuel tank (1).

  9. Remove the fuel filler pipe from the grommet on the fuel filler pocket (4).
