Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. Replace the O-ring if the O-ring is damaged.
  2. Fig 1: View Of CMP Sensor

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the camshaft position sensor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  4. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
  5. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (LA1 ) or Power Steering Pump Replacement (LY7) in Power Steering System.
