Installation Procedure

- Properly route the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the engine compartment.

- Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the cowl.

- If the vehicle is equipped with a column shift, perform the following steps:
- Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the steering column bracket.
- Install the retaining clip to the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
- Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the column control lever.

- If the vehicle is equipped with a console shift, perform the following steps:
- Install the transaxle shift cable to the floor shift control.
- Install the console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (Aztek)
or Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (Rendezvous)
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

- Install the A/T range selector cable to the A/T range selector cable bracket.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the A/T range selector cable to the A/T range selector lever.
- Lower the vehicle.

- Install the retaining clip to the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
- Adjust the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Cable Adjustment .
- Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement
in Engine Controls-3.4L.
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls-3.4L.
