Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Apply adhesive GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the screw.
  2. Position the sensor fork to the pin.
  3. Rotate the sensor in order to align the sensor locator to the hole in the extension bracket.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the brake pedal position sensor screw.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector (2).

    Engage the CPA. The CPA will not engage if the connector is not attached properly.

  8. Calibrate the sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
  9. Install the I/P insulator. Refer to Knee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
