Installation Procedure

  1. Position the catalytic converter assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the front muffler assembly to the support hangers.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the front muffler to rear muffler flange bolts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the front muffler to rear muffler flange bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the catalytic converter to front muffler flange bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the catalytic converter to front muffler flange bolts to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  5. Remove the jackstand supporting the left and right side muffler assembly.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
    7. CAUTION: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
