Removal Procedure

  1. Move the intake air duct away from the pump. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory .
  3. Place a drain pan below the vehicle and remove the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .
    4. NOTE: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  4. Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe and the flare nut from the pump.
  5. Remove and discard the O-ring from the high pressure port on the pump.
  6. Loosen the hose clamp on the reservoir outlet hose.
  7. Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the pump.

  8. Remove the 2 bolts (5,6) from the pump (1).
  9. Remove the pump from the mounting bracket (2).
