Installation Procedure

  1. Install the resonator assembly through the wheel house opening.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the resonator rear push-in retainer and the upper attaching bolt (5).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 7 N.m (61 lb in).

  3. Install the front air cleaner intake duct (3) through the headlamp assembly opening.
  4. Install the lower push-in retainer (4) to the front air cleaner intake duct.
  5. Install the left front wheel house panel. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the upper push-in retainer (1) to the front air cleaner intake duct.
  9. Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb Replacement (Pontiac) in Lighting Systems.
  10. Install the air cleaner outlet splash shield.
