Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .

  2. Remove the fuel injector electrical connector.

  3. Remove the fuel injector retainer clip (1).

  4. Remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail.
    5. IMPORTANT: Visually inspect the fuel injector in order to determine if the upper O-ring was also removed. If the upper O-ring in not removed, remove the O-ring from the fuel rail assembly.
    IMPORTANT: If the fuel injector insulator cups are removed from the cylinder head while removing the fuel rail, new insulator cups must be installed.
  5. Remove and discard the fuel injector O-rings.
