Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the CKP sensor O-ring and lubricate with a mineral based grease.

  3. Gently insert the CKP sensor into the block.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the CKP sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the CKP sensor bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  6. Reconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  7. Reinstall the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  8. Reinstall the front air deflector, if removed in previous step.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Reconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  11. Perform the CKP system Variation Learn Procedure. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure .
