Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Locating Park Lock Micro Switch Retaining Screws

  1. If removed, install the micro switch and wiring harness to the floor shift control base plate.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the park lock micro switch retaining screws (1,2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 0.5 N.m (4 lb in).

  4. Route the wiring harness as shown.

  6. Install the solenoid.
  7. Install the solenoid retaining screws (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  8. Connect the solenoid wiring harness connector (1) to the shift lock solenoid.

  10. Install the insulator (3) to the base.
  11. Connect the selector lever housing (1) to the base (2) by locking the 4 retaining tabs.

  13. Connect the wiring harness connector (1) to the rear of the selector assembly.

  15. Install the selector knob, then install the selector knob retaining screw (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  16. Install the floor shift control. Refer to Floor Shift Control Replacement in Automatic Transmission - 4L60-E/4L65-E.
