Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement

Callout Component Name
NOTE: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.
Preliminary Procedure: Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
1 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Electrical Connector

Procedure

  1. Lift the locking tabs on the lower edge of the lever to release the electrical connector.
  2. Position the electrical connector toward the front of the vehicle.
2 Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Bolt
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  11 N.m (97 lb in)

3 BPMV Assembly

Procedure

  1. Carefully separate the BPMV from the bracket. Do not pry on the accumulator covers on the underside of the BPMV.
  2. Position the BPMV assembly upward and support with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent.
  3. Do not remove the mounting pins unless it is necessary to aid in releasing the modulator assembly from the bracket.
4 BPMV Mounting Bracket Bolt (Qty: 3)

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)

5 BPMV Mounting Bracket

Procedure

  1. Inspect the BPMV bracket insulators for damage and replace, if necessary.
  2. Use denatured alcohol on the BPMV mounting pins as an installation aid, if necessary.
