Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the PSCM.
- Ignition OFF, test for 10-200 ohms of resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 3.
- If not within the specified range, test the exciting circuit and the exciting ground circuit for an open/high resistance or a short. If the circuits test normal, replace the electric power steering (EPS) motor.
- Ignition OFF, test for 3K-10K ohms of resistance between terminal 6 and terminal 3.
- If not within the specified range, test the SIN circuit and the exciting ground circuit for an open/high resistance or a short. If the circuits test normal, replace the EPS motor.
- Ignition OFF, test for 6K-20K ohms of resistance between terminal 5 and terminal 3.
- If not within the specified range, test the COS circuit and the exciting ground circuit for an open/high resistance or a short. If the circuits test normal, replace the EPS motor.
- Ignition OFF, test for greater than 1M ohms of resistance between terminal 3 and the motor flange.
- If less than the specified value, test the exciting ground circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EPS motor.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the PSCM.
